Lost San Francisco: Maxie (35mm)
Joe Talbot— director of the Last Black Man in San Francisco— presents the latest edition of his Lost San Francisco series with Maxie, a tale about a young couple who find their SF apartment haunted by the ghost of a 1920s flapper. Even compared to the other films in Talbot’s series, this one is particularly elusive; it was never released on DVD, and you can’t even find it streaming online.

AM:PM at Devon Turnbull’s HiFi Listening Room
A few weeks ago, we caught Devon Turnbull exhibiting his new HiFi listening room in a wing of SFMOMA’s temporary Art of Noise exhibit and were wildly impressed. While Devon has returned to his studio in Brooklyn, his sound system will be on display all summer, with guest DJs from the Bay Area and beyond popping in to play their own records. This Saturday, SF’s own AM:PM will be taking over during museum hours.
